About
London Zoo, opened in 1828, is the world's oldest scientific zoo located at the northern edge of Regent's Park. It houses more than 8,000 animals from over 300 species and is managed by the Zoological Society of London.
The penguin pool and primate enclosures are the main draws for children aged 4+. Feeding times draw crowds. It's a proper old-fashioned zoo, not a wildlife park—smaller animals can seem distant. Step-free paths throughout. Combine with Regent's Park walk if you have time.
