About
A 350-acre historic Grade I-listed urban park in Westminster that was established by Henry VIII in 1536 as a hunting ground and opened to the public in 1637. Divided by the Serpentine and Long Water lakes, it hosted the Great Exhibition of 1851 and has been a venue for free speech, protests and concerts since the 19th century. The park features Speakers' Corner, established for free speech and debate since 1872.
