📍 Shakespeare’s Globe 21 New Globe Walk, London, SE1 9DT Borough & Southwark Street
About
A rebuilt Elizabethan theatre on the south bank of the River Thames in Southwark where Shakespeare's plays were originally performed. The complex also includes the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse for smaller indoor productions.
Reconstruction of Shakespeare's 1599 playhouse offering tours, youth workshops, and accessible performances with interval breaks. Standing in the pit as a groundling is thrilling but can overwhelm sensitive children—consider seated tickets. Tours are excellent, often led by passionate staff who engage children. Book ahead, especially school holidays.
